This past few weeks, I had to be reminded that God does not need the filtered, buttoned-up version of myself. He wants my reality. He wants my honesty. He want to have the most honest relationship with me and that means I cannot hide or hold anything back. So these days, my prayers are more like battle songs, poems and laments —-And it helps. It really, really helps to give him your reality, the “I don’t know” prayers, the “Lord, Please help” prayers. There’s no need to tidy-up before you cry out to the Father. He loves them unscripted and honest…
